Fall is my favorite time of the year! Many special events happen in October; birthdays and weddings, family reunions and remembrance.
For some, it is a pagan time of year- Samhain. It is the end and the beginning, a time of renewal, rejoicing and rebirth.
As old fires die, the embers of love burst into new flames.
October 31st, 2009 was my wedding date and everything created for this special day was a reflection of the Fall.
The invitations were made using a precut kit; the ribbons were discarded in favour of hand stamping each cream coloured card with either Oak , or Maple leaf in Copper Brilliance ink.
The custom text was laser printed; cream front and rich brown backs were assembled. A custom website designed to allow for quick RSVPs, and provide information to our guests.
In lieu of table cards, Title Cards were made for each handcrafted centerpiece. Two cards were printed for each in contrasting colours. Leaf cutouts were paper punched creating texture when the two sides are assembled.
Mask tags were printed single sided; ribbon threaded through a small leaf cutout punched from the paper. Cutout leaves saved from previous projects were used to cover the ribbon ends on the favour tags.
The full ceremony what printed on letter paper in shades of brown and parchment; two sheets folded in half and tied around the spine with ribbon.
Black napkins were gilded in copper with the large maple and oak stamps.
